The U.S. Census Bureau is recruiting thousands of people for temporary jobs across the country. Enumerators receive assignments, via a government issued smartphone, which involve locating households and conducting interviews with respondents, explaining the purpose of the 2020 Census, asking questions to validate addresses and recording data. Enumerators go to specific addresses to interview people to complete a questionnaire or to verify the status of addresses.
This job requires traveling from housing unit to housing unit, not all of which will be easily accessible such as multi-level units without elevators, carrying materials, driving at night and in bad weather, and working in diverse neighborhoods and with diverse population groups."
